Wiz Khalifa & Amber Rose on The Cover of XXL’s October/November Issue!

It’s a love thing between Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose, hip-hop’s most publicly affectionate couple. And now they’ve got a baby on the way. The engaged and expecting item grace the cover ofXXL’s October/November issue with a special interview by XXL editor-in-chief, Vanessa Satten, and revealing classic portraits by Sarah McColgan. In the story, Wiz and Amber speak openly on topics such as how they met, being a celebrity couple in hip-hop, their excitement about becoming parents and being in love, Wiz toning down his herbal habits around his pregnant fiancé, what family and friends think about their union and details on Wiz’s highly-anticipated sophomore album, O.N.I.F.C. [Only Nigga In First Class].

Wiz On Getting Together With Amber:

“I love my baby. She’s gorgeous and it makes me look even cooler when I show how much I love her to other people… When I met Amber, she loved me for who I was. I had some money, but it was like to pay my bills and literally set myself up for a future. But I was wearing the same camo shorts and high-tops and Chucks. But she liked my swag and she liked me for who I was and I wasn’t afraid of that… She didn’t wanna date any entertainers or anybody in the business. She didn’t know who she wanted to be with, but she knew who she didn’t wanna be with.”

Wiz On Recording His New Album With Amber At Home:

“I just gotta do it. The most important thing is knowing that she is there and I have to tend to my babies. This is my first child ever in life. I gotta go hard at everything. As hard as I go in the studio, I gotta go just as hard taking care of my baby and making sure she’s alright, and I’m spending time with her and she doesn’t feel neglected.”

Amber On Giving Birth:

“I’m so ready. I’m going all-natural. I’ve decided that I’m going to have an all-natural water birth. No medicine. I want those bragging rights! The next time Wiz has a stomachache or anything, I’ll say, ‘I popped out a baby all-natural.’”

Amber On Wiz:

“[H]e’s just a genuine sweet guy. And that’s what made me fall in love with him. And I just said, “You know what, I don’t care if he’s a rapper.” I don’t care if people say, “Oh, you’re a gold-digger.” I don’t care if people say, “Oh, you went from one rapper to another,” or whatever. I love him. I don’t look at him as a rapper. I look at him as Cameron Thomaz, not even Wiz Khalifa. I just fell so deeply in love with him, I didn’t care what anyone says.”

Also in the issue, XXL catches up with Meek Mill; Lecrae discusses the stigma of being a Christian rapper—that’s winning; Juicy J talks about reinventing himself; Big Sean offers info on his album in the works; Common celebrates the 20th anniversary of his debut album, “Can I Borrow A Dollar?” and Diamond Supply’s Nicki Diamonds shares a glimpse of what he needs to have on him at all times.

In addition, hip-hop mourns the loss of Violator Management founder, Chris Lighty; MMA fighter David Bautista talks hip-hop, Joell Ortiz interviews NBA head coach and fellow New Yorker, Mark Jackson, plus much more.

The October/November issue of XXL hits stands nationwide on October 9.—XXL Staff

Adele on not being a fan of gossip:
"My friends all read gossip s**t, and they're like, 'I heard you you're going now with blah blah,' and I haven't even met these people. It's bulls**t."

Aretha Franklin on Adele:
"It's been a long time since an artist like Adele has come along. Carol King is the last person who wrote the kind of lyrics women immediately could relate to. I love to hear a schoolgirl on the school bus yellin', 'We coulda had it all!'"

Adele on writing sessions acting as her therapy:
"We broke up mutually, and I was desperate to write about it 'causes I can't talk about my feelings to anyone. To my mom, to my therapist, to friends, to myself in the mirror - I can't really do it. I've always written down how I feel."

Bruno Mars Covers BILLBOARD .He will Release 'Unorthodox Jukebox' Dec. 11

In this week's cover story (look for it later Friday), Mars previews the follow-up to his Grammy Award-winning "Doo-Wops & Hooligans" and discusses the new album's energetic first single, "Locked Out of Heaven," which debuts digitally and on radio on Oct. 1.

"This is me going into the studio and recording and writing whatever I want," Mars says confidently. "This album represents my freedom."

The eclectic set includes production from Mark Ronson ( Amy Winehouse), Jeff Bhasker ( Beyonce), Emile Haynie ( Eminem), Diplo ( M.I.A., Usher) and Supa Dups ( John Legend, "Doo-Woops & Hooligans") as well as the Smeezingtons, Mars' three-man songwriting and production team. The trio executive-produced and co-wrote "Unorthodox Jukebox," an album Mars says refuses to "pick a lane."

"I've had big record label presidents look me in the face and say, 'Your music sucks, you don't know who you are, your music is all over the place, and we don't know how to market this stuff. Pick a lane and come back to us,'" he says. "That was disgusting to me, because I'm not trying to be a circus act."

A defiant Mars says he didn't allow himself get boxed in to any one genre during the recoding of the album.
"I listen to a lot of music," he says, "and I want to have the freedom and luxury to walk into a studio and say, 'Today I want to do a hip-hop, R&B, soul or rock record.'"

Released in October 2010, "Doo-Wops & Hooligans" debuted and peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and spawned four Hot 100 hits: "Just the Way You Are" (No. 1), "Grenade" (No. 1), "The Lazy Song" (No. 4) and "Marry You" (No. 85). The album has sold 1.7 million in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan.

His other top 10s include "It Will Rain" (No. 4) from the "Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 1" soundtrack, and he was a featured artist on B.o.B's "Nothin' On You" (No. 1), Travie McCoy's "Billionaire" (No. 4), Bad Meets Evil's "Lighters" (No. 4) and Snoop Dogg & Wiz Khalifa's "Young, Wild & Free" (No. 7).
